Check out for more info on all of the speakers. It is a bookshelf with the Vrho tweeter and a 7' bass driver! I have never heard them but I am sure they sound great. Life happened and while I haven't been in the AV game for quite a long time I'm looking to buy a good set of floor standing speakers. If you would rather have a BS then Boston just released the VrB. Back in the mid 90's I owned quite a few pairs of speakers but the ones I liked the best out of what I tried were the Boston Acoustics VR40s. The Vrho tweeter in them are wonderful and very detailed. If I didn't listen to a lot of music I would probably opt for a BS and buy a great sub. I listen to a lot of music so I like the options I have with a FS. You will have to decide for yourself if you prefer floorstanding or bookshelf. I think one of the big reasons you do not hear a lot about Boston is simply because they are not marketed as much as other speakers.how often do you open an audio magazine and see an add for Boston? I have only seen one in the last year and that was for a HTIB system. They may not be as 'popular' as a lot of other speakers but You will get excellent quality at a great price and a wonderful neutral yet dynamic sound. As Tonygeno said, Boston has been around forever and is very respected in the HT world. I absolutely love them and will not be upgrading for the forseeable future. Currently I am running Vr3's for my mains. I have been an Avid fan of Boston for years.I have an old set of A20's (15 years old) that still sound good as new.
